Rochester is a special place. You know that. We know that, too, as we’re likely the friendly people behind you in line at Wegmans or sitting beside you at Red Wings games. We volunteer our time to help others and contribute to local charities. Our best story ideas come from the joy – and yes, the challenges -- of living here. Our highest priority is investigative journalism, unearthing problems and finding solutions, to make our community a better place to live. Nobody knows Rochester like we do and our passion for covering this community is on display every day.

ROCHESTER’S TOP WORKPLACES

Since 2014, the Democrat and Chronicle has partnered with Philadelphia-based Energage (formerly WorkplaceDynamics), an employee research and consulting firm, to determine – and publicly recognize -- the region’s most engaging and rewarding places to work. In 2018, 60 companies scored well enough to be recognized as Rochester’s Top Workplaces. What makes the program unique is that the recognition is based solely on surveys about the workplace completed by their employees.

Every year, Rochester area schools prepare some students for bright futures, while dooming thousands of others to a lifetime of poverty. Our entire community is suffering from the social and economic consequences of this failure. Time to Educate is helping our community find solutions and take action.
